But we have a bit more reading to do, so \u00a0relax and read on !<\/p>\n<p>Now that you know how your air conditioner works, you may be wondering:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What can go wrong in my air conditioning?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Well, you might wanna take a look at one of our previous blog entries, specifically &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paullsair.com.au\/home\/paullsair-air-conditioning-blog\/possible-locations-of-component-failure-in-the-standard-air-conditioning-system\">&#8220;The Truth about Air Conditioning failure&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, generally speaking, there are few simple reasons that you can check yourself without needing a\u00a0technician<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Is there power to the system;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; the filter may need to be cleaned;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; the coils may get dirty overtime, just as well as the fins could get slightly bent,<\/p>\n<p>However all these problems will not bother you with regular preventative maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There are certain problems that will still require you to call a technician, you may be able to save some\u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">time<\/span><\/strong> and your <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">money<\/span><\/strong> if you identify the problem yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Here is how:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If the unit does not run at all, check the electrical service panel for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If the air conditioner turns on and off repeatedly, check for and remove any obstruction in the condenser, clean the coils.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If the unit does not cool sufficiently, lower the thermostat and clean the filters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If the unit is noisy when running, tighten the housing screws and make sure clips are in place.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If the air conditioner drips water inside the room, check and flush the drain system.
